ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Jon Van Zyle is an internationally recognized wildlife artist who is closely identified with sled dog racing in his home state of Alaska. Twice Van Zyle has run the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race from which he derived artistic inspiration for a magnificent series of original paintings, prints, and posters that capture the excitement and spirit of the annual race. The text was written by Van Zyle's wife, Jona, a dog musher, writer, and artist in her own right.
