A Companion and Guide for Family Caregivers

STEPPING UP is the ultimate resource designed for caregivers to provide a rich knowledge base for future planning of compassionate caregiving. It integrates valid medical research, supplemented with personal stories to educate the reader on critical caregiving issues. Issues addressed include: recognizing declining health, caring effectively in the home, supervising care from a distance, understanding common diseases and conditions, services available toward the end-of-life, coping after death, essential legal documents, and online resources.

"STEPPING UP provides a valuable resource for our nation’s near 30% of the population: family caregivers, and for those who provide services to family caregivers."
----Lin Zhan, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor and Dean of The Loewenberg School of Nursing, The University of Memphis

"I found STEPPING UP to be an incredible resource… not only valuable but essential to those embarking on this journey."
----Mary Jane Stillwagon, RN BSN, Administrative Director for Performance Improvement Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Services, Duke University Hospital
